Let’s revisit some profound predictions by our team regarding Windows 8 for tablets. We just cant make this stuff up!
With all of the annoncements pouring out of the Windows 8 BUILD developers conference in Anaheim, California, we decided it would be worthwhile to have a look at a few things.
First and foremost, Microsoft confirmed something great about Windows 8: it’s one unified operating system across all Windows devices.
In addition to bridging the gap between varying Windows mobile and tablet devices, Windows 8 will provide a bridge into the world of Windows x86 architecture, or your traditional Windows desktop and notebook computers.
This is something we previously predicted, on April 5, 2011.
“Windows 8 will scale across all platforms. Desktops, notebooks, phones, and tablets. One operating system with a standardized application architecture. This is the only move that would make sense for Microsoft considering how heavily invested they are in the cloud, enterprise, and with new unified communications solutions. The word is not official yet, but we’re confident about our feelings. Mark our words, Windows 8 will scale across multiple platforms.”
All in all we’re excited about what the future of Windows 8 holds for tablets, and we’re ridiculously pleased with our crystal ball.
