Samsung is getting ready to release details of their new Windows 8 tablet PC, but just where in the world could this be happening.
Here’s a little clue:
Microsoft will host their Windows 8 developers conference at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim California USA from September 12 – September 16, and Samsung will be there, participating.
With Samsung recently announcing their upcoming Series 7 Slate PC running Windows 7, there is no doubt in my mind that Samsung is set to reveal a Windows 8 tablet PC at BUILD before next Friday.
While Samsung remains a contender in the Android tablet arena with their series of Galaxy Tab’s, the waters remain rough with ongoing legal battles with Apple over copyright infringments. Samsung devices “closely resembling iPhone and iPad” have recently been blocked internationally, and this could spell out long term difficulties for Samsung as they wearily steer towards their goal of tablet domination.
Samsung’s careful alignment with Windows 8 for the future of their tablets, whether in conjuunction with their Android based tablet sales or not, could be a move which saves their course indefinitely. Windows 8 has a lot of promise as a unified operating system Samsung being of the first manufacturers to align with Microsoft on a modern Windows tablet offering is a recipe for success for starters, and a safety net should their legal woes with Apple consume their Android offering further.
